Long exposure photography- Tutorial

This is my short guide to Long exposure photography. This field is "magical". If you get everything right, you'll end up with photos you can never imagine. You just need patience and practice.

Below are some of my long-exposure photographs.. You'll notice that these pictures were taken at night or in low light. Long exposure comes into play only when theres is less light. If you're gonna try it in daylight, you're gonna need filters, or else your photos are likely to end up blown out.

Here's how you'll do it.

You'll need a tripod or some steady surface for shooting long exposures, because even the slightest movement can spoil everything. Fix the camera on the tripod steady and firm.

Got to manual mode(or Fireworks mode) and set the shutter speed to 3 or 4 seconds. An aerial view can get you some superb shots of the city..( I haven't had a chance though)

Gently press the shutter. You can use the timer if necessary. Wait for the camera to process the image. It does take some time. Again, patience is the key.

You can also try the art of light painting. Trying this during Diwali time can be so much fun! You'll get some amazing results..

All the best!
